We get ready for Lent and prepare for Ash Wednesday with a craft to discuss the meaning of receiving ashes on our foreheads. How will you pray, fast, and give alms this Lent?
A Message To Parents:
This Ash Wednesday marks the start of our fourth Lent with the Mass Box. This is actually the very first episode we ever made! We have changed up the materials a bit to do watercolor paints instead of gluing string on, but it’s the same basic craft.
We’ve learned a lot over the past few years. I can honestly say I have dived into the scriptures, especially on a liturgical cycle, with doing the Mass box with my kids than I EVER did as a child, teen, or young adult.
The liturgical seasons are not repetitive to me anymore. They’re a new opportunity to draw closer to Christ, especially as our family develops and our kids can understand the seasons and practices in deeper ways.
