Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Marian Grotto Craft

A Message To Parents:

This month is traditionally devoted to Christ’s birth, and today, we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of Mary, who grew up pure and strong to fulfill her calling in life as Jesus’ mother.

Remember, this is the Immaculate Conception of Mary — not of Jesus! Many confuse these. The Incarnation refers to Jesus; the Immaculate Conception refers to His Mother — the new Eve, new ark of the covenant, and the first tabernacle to carry His Body.

We read the archangel Gabriel’s message to Mary in the Gospel, announcing the conception of Jesus. Let us pray that we are open to any and all messages from God, however they are delivered to us:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hours of death. Amen.

God Bless,

Genevieve Perkins
